No. Shipping is handled directly between buyers and sellers.
OpenGiving is a peer-to-peer marketplace. When you buy something, you're buying from another person — not from us. That means shipping, returns, and item condition are arranged directly between you and the seller.
How It Works
- Buyer purchases an item through the OpenGiving marketplace
- Seller receives notification with buyer's shipping information
- Seller ships the item using their preferred carrier
- Buyer receives the item and confirms delivery
What OpenGiving Handles
We manage the payment infrastructure:
- Secure checkout through Stripe
- Automatic fund routing — the campaign portion goes to the campaign, the seller portion goes to the seller
- Transaction records on both buyer and seller GivingProfiles
What Sellers Handle
Sellers are responsible for:
- Accurate item descriptions
- Timely shipping
- Communication with buyers
- Returns (at their discretion)
